About the Team

For more than 30 years, the North Carroll Sea Lions have been more than just a summer swim team — we have been a community built around growth, encouragement, teamwork, and fun. Founded in 1995 and based at the Lineboro-Manchester Lions Club Community Pool, the Sea Lions provide swimmers of all experience levels with the opportunity to develop confidence in and out of the water.

From first-time swimmers learning to make it across the pool to experienced athletes chasing personal records, every swimmer is welcomed, supported, and challenged to become the best version of themselves. Our program is rooted in the belief that success is not measured only by wins and medals, but by perseverance, sportsmanship, friendships, and personal growth.

The Sea Lions are proud members of the Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL), where we compete while emphasizing teamwork, integrity, and positive competition.

Our Mission

The mission of the North Carroll Sea Lions is to create and provide the opportunity for a fun swimming experience while building teamwork, swim skills, good sportsmanship, and self-esteem in a competitive swim program.

What Makes the Sea Lions Different

The North Carroll Sea Lions are built on a family-centered, community-first philosophy. Coaches, parents, volunteers, and swimmers work together to create an environment where every child feels seen, encouraged, and valued. Longtime coaches Mike and Cindi Federline have helped shape generations of swimmers through a coaching philosophy focused on positive reinforcement, strong technical skills, inclusiveness, and long-term confidence-building.
